by Ed Sutherland on April 18, 2008

“What a wakeup call….” - B5 Media CEO Jeremy Wright on Twitter, the day of a TechCrunch report of failed merger talks between the Canadian blog network and blog search company Technorati.

Toronto-based B5 Media reportedly has walked away from merger talks with blog search engine Technorati. At one point, talks had progressed to the point where Technorati was pitching potential investors on the the advantages of a roll-up. However, discussions broke off due to what one side termed “CEO conflicts” and “lack of transparency” on Technorati’s part.

So far, there has no confirmation of the talks or their dissolution. The two companies did not respond to requests for comment.
